STATUS
Published
“Healthcare is complex.”
THE CHALLENGE
The Health Collaborative brings together the people who provide care, pay for care, and receive care. That’s a vital mission, and a hard one to explain. Its website had to speak to hospital executives, community partners, donors, and the public at once, without losing any of them in jargon.
THE INSIGHT
People don’t connect with systems. They connect with people.
Every page needed a clear purpose and uncomplicated language, and the mission needed faces. So the content leads with why it matters before how it works, and tells part of the coalition’s story through the teams and leaders doing the work.
THE WORK
A website with a clearer voice.
As part of the site’s rebrand, I worked across teams to redefine its messaging, mission language, and communication pillars, then rewrote key pages for clarity and accessibility, from donor appeals to clinical initiatives and DEI.
Stories that put people first.
I wrote published profiles of regional healthcare leaders and community organizations recognized by the coalition, covering housing equity, transgender medicine, children’s mental health, maternal care, and immigrant community health. Each one turns clinical outcomes into a human story, accurate enough for clinicians and warm enough for everyone else.
Member materials that sell the value.
I partnered with the design, branding, and comms teams on internal and external materials, including the membership packet, letter, and member-value deck, shaping and editing the copy so every benefit ties back to the mission and reads as a reason to join.
THE OUTCOME
Published, approved, and appreciated.
The new site messaging went live as part of the rebrand, and every recognition profile was published online. Every honoree and nominee reviewed and approved the profile written about them, many with genuine enthusiasm.
